ABOUT US:

During the 2015-2016 school year, our students in 2nd hour Work Study helped our teachers and staff create a business that would encompass the learning of academic and vocational skills needed for employment. In an effort to create a “real world” challenge that would better prepare our students for the world of work/business and help them connect with our teachers in fun/unique ways, our students created Titan Brew, which is a Dunkin Donuts coffee delivery service during 2nd Hour.

Students enrolled in Titan Brew work with our DECA and Marketing Students to:

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:  

*Students will measure coffee and prepare coffee during 1st hour Academics class.

*Daily Dunkin Donuts coffee brew and delivery service by our students from 2nd hour Work Study Program.

*Environmentally Sustainable Company- all staff members that take part in the program will receive a Titan Brew traveler mug and students will deliver, collect, wash, and prepare of the next school day.

*Student designed Logo and ordering service through OneDrive or Titan Brew email account.

*Coffee store house will be in the front of PLSHS. We will brew coffee from our “store” location and deliver using coffee carts (one for 1st floor and 2nd floor for deliveries to teachers/staff.

*Donations through Papillion Schools Foundation, Special Olympics Project Unify

 *Payment Method- teachers will receive a Titan Brew Punch card for $4.00 per card. Each card will have ten cups of coffee on it.

PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

  1. Students will use 21st century communication skills/modes to deliver the best cup of coffee to our teachers and staff. (Through letters, Titan Brew email, and OneDrive).

  2. In delivering our coffee, other staff members will learn more about our inclusive community at PLSHS and interact more with our students in Special Education services.

  3. Target students will be exposed to communication opportunities that support their communication/behavioral IEP goals and objectives.

  4. Students will take more of an ownership role in development of teams and problem solving skills when adapting a business to meet the needs of our staff.

  5. To support our students as they transition to Project Search and YATP

  1. Brian and Grace- Because I get to meet new people and work hard.

  2. Richard and Ryan- Because teachers look happy when they get their drink.

  3. Annie and Ms. Stearns- Because I get to meet new teachers.

  4. Paul and Ms. Stearns- I get to get out and walk around.

  5. Caitlyn and Sarah- Caitlyn looks like a rock star in her apron.

  6. Troy and Chris- Because I like to deliver coffee.

  7. Peyton and Tyler- Because I love delivering all the cups.

  8. Michael- I like to deliver coffee.

  9. Sheriff- I like walking and working.
  10. Ms. Barnes- I love coffee and getting to see all of my students hard at work.

  11. Ms. Hoesing- It's a structured opportunity to practice communication.

  12. Mr. Cain- I get to work with all of you guys!
